The Liberator Exhaust System was originally developed from experiments and research conducted by our scientists in the late 1990’s, which led to discoveries regarding wave flow patterns and flow redirection. 

Independent laboratory testing and thousands of miles of on-road data gathered from working trucks verify that the Liberator Exhaust System greatly reduces backpressure on the engine, saves significant fuel costs on an ongoing basis, and provides better power resulting in less shifting during driving.

How does it work?  Using a typical Class 7 or Class 8 truck as an example, the engine exhaust pipe is five inches in diameter, providing approximately 20 square inches of internal flow area.  The flow path through a typical OEM or aftermarket muffler, however, can reduce internal flow to only a few square inches in order to successfully muffle sound.  The result is constricted exhaust, high backpressure and choke points.

In this same example, the Liberator Exhaust System provides roughly 30 square inches of internal flow space – up to ten times typical mufflers.  This means your power unit has free-flowing exhaust, minimal backpressure, and no choke points.   You immediately experience markedly greater fuel economy (5% to 10%), greater power, less downshifting, and longer engine life.

While there are many muffler after-market products, including several that target the heavy truck industry, none offer the significant fuel economy benefit engendered by the Liberator Exhaust System.
